Good day beloved brothers and sisters in Christ,
In our discussion on the 18-11-2023, we thoroughly examined our Lord’s simple command to shake the dust of our feet as we leave the city of those who do not receive us(Luke 9:5). We are commanded by God to provide the unrepentant among us a testimony or warning for refusing the word.
For lo, they are an evil generation! - who desperately (and ironically) seek for signs but they will get the sign of Jonah the prophet (Luke 11:29).
Yea, signs such as that of the prophet Jonah, who appeared and preached unto the Ninevites unto repentance, lest they face destruction and perish (Jonah 3:4). And they repented. Behold, for those very men of Nineveh shall rise up in judgment against this generation and condemn them because one greater than Jonah has come, and yet they hearkened not unto Him (Luke 11:32).
Yea, for even the Queen of the South (that is, Sheba) shall rise up in the judgment during the last days against the men of this generation and condemn them, for she came from the utmost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon, and yet when the very Word made flesh has come, many failed to hearken unto Him (Luke 11:32).
But you may ask yourself, how can I repent?
The answer to that question, dear brethren, is precisely to be spiritually-minded by hearing and doing the word of God as contained in the Holy Bible. It is hard to repent if we are carnally minded. Which means to yield to the demands of the flesh or body. This include but not limited to lust, homosexuality, abuse of food, substances and drinks. (1 Cor. 6:9-10, Lev 20:13)
We noted that man is made up of the body soul and the spirit. The soul is the decision maker. The body and spirit provides information to the soul to enable decision making. If one leans so much on the body, the decisions he or she makes leads to death Because to be carnally minded is death. Let all be spiritually minded for peace and life.
